Why I Hate Pink?
I had mentioned to my daughter about writing a book together but we couldn't decide what to write about. One night before bed I was getting her dressed and laundry needed to be done. She likes to sleep in a tank top and shorts and I didn't have either. I had a pair of pink pajama pants and a pink shirt. I brought them into her and her reaction was a heavy sigh. I just knew she was going to say "I hate wearing pants to bed." Instead she said "Mommy, I Hate Pink!" and that's how it all began.
Fun Fact:
The name Lou is short for my daughters middle name Louella.

Hi there, thank you for visiting my website. I am a Blacksburg, Virginia native now living in beautiful Giles County. I am a hairstylist with over 20 years of experience behind the chair. In 2020 I opend up Salon Lou, a one person salon. My goal was to provide a safe and relaxing atmosphere for myself and for clients during a stressful and uncertain time.
With my husband, we own Lovewell Lodge and Weddings. An elegant, rustic wedding venue located just minutes from our home in Eggleston.
I am also a homeschooling mama to our daughter. Writing a book was a 2021 goal, to help her get excited about reading and writing on her own. Unfortunately, this was a parenting fail. But we did write a book together and it was so much fun.
She loved helping with the decision making when it came to the illustrations. Created by Bex Sutton. It was also my daughters idea to add "Bat Facts" and to make I Hate Pink a look and find.
